Blog 2; Lets be realistic about food!
Today I want to talk about my favourite thing FOOD!
Pizza, Pasta, Ice Cream, Pie, Kievs, Chocolate, Sweeties, Cheese, Crackling, Cake, Sausage rolls. Oh, Sorry I’ll get my head out the clouds!
The relationship I have with food is not what I would consider balanced. Now the problem isn’t always what I eat, but the quantity I eat.
You have two major types of people in this world, those that like the regular big meals, and those that like light grazing all day.
Then you have me, I like to do them both!
YOUNGSTER – MUMS RULES!
When I was younger, I always ate pretty healthily, I had a lot of fruit and veg, I wasn’t allowed fizzy drinks in the house and the weekends were the only days I was allowed to buy chocolate.
It was because of this that I am thankful I do actually enjoy the healthy things in life, Okay, perhaps enjoy is a step too far but I can happily tolerate them knowing it’s the “right thing to do”. Let’s be honest, they are bland!
NAVY DESIRES - 2010
When I decided I wanted to lose weight during high school I lost it using slimming world, eating virtually nothing but tuna pasta. I can only assume this worked as I was exercising, trying to join the Navy, or maybe I was just young and my metabolism allowed this. Either way, I certainly cannot do a pasta diet now!
THE BE.YOU.TIFUL TEACHINGS - 2015
At one stage of my life I had a fitness instructor come friend – Charlotte (Insta - @be.you.tiful.toulouse) that literally took me shopping once and told me what food to buy, what to make with it and unsurprisingly, that week I lost some weight.
Side Note: You’ll hear a lot about Charlotte during my blog, she is only of the most inspirational people I have ever met, she’s battled with weight and hell now she’s the strongest lady I know, check out the abs! Woman Crush Wednesday every Damn week!
….Anyway, the following week I shopped alone and I bought all of the same foods, plus more, More that I did not need. Including about 10 Grimburgen Rouges (Cherry Beer) a night.
Side Note: You probably haven’t tried Grimburgen, but you really ought to! Baby steps remember, we’re real people, we’re not binning alcohol!
Maybe if I had stuck to plan then, we wouldn’t be here now.
LIVING ALONE, BREAKUPS AND BOREDOM
I’m a boredom eater. The second my relationship (Blog 1) failed I was suddenly living alone and realised I could eat whatever I wanted, and no one cared, so I did.
WHERE ARE WE RIGHT NOW?
So now a few years later I’m a happily balanced person (Balanced not Normal she emphasises heavily!). I love my veg, I love my fruit, I love my meat, I love my sweeties and I love my stodge. Which is all fine and dandy in a balanced, controlled manner.
But as I say the foods I eat that aren’t the main problem it’s the quantity and frequency!
LET’S SORT THIS S**T
So, I’m done with the wittering and moaning, what are we going to do?
Every Day this week we are going to eat 3 lettuce leaves and half a tomato. Then we’re going to drink 9 litres of water and run 13 miles.

Welcome to the internet ladies and gentlemen. Unrealistic goals and Hella dull!
I’m being realistic about this, baby steps, I want to make a life style change NOT a 10-day transformation.
Baby step number 1: Have vegetables in every meal, even if it’s something small so this is my weeks dinners, I haven’t even had time to think about lunches yet so you’ll get a mini update on that in the next couple of days.
Dinner
Saturday – Steak w/Peas, Spinach and Asparagus
Sunday – Dr. Oetker Spinach Base Pizza (Way tastier than It sounds I promise)
Monday – Tuna Fishcake w/Carrots, potatoes and peas
Tuesday – Chicken in a tomato, mushroom and chorizo sauce w/Carrots, Broccoli and peas
Wednesday – Salmon w/Carrots, asparagus and sweetcorn
Thursday – Homemade Chicken Pie w/Carrots, broccoli and peas
Friday – Thai green curry (Pepper, green beans, peas, spinach, mushrooms, chicken or prawns)
Drinks
Personally I am awful with me my water intake so I am going to try and test this 2 Litre a day business! So, if you need me, you’ll predominantly find me peeing!
