Keep my glass filled butler...

Let’s be honest Christmas does not fit with tradition without one too many glitter bombs, vodka cocktails or sherries at some point.


Tis the season to be merry!


This season is filled with Christmas parties, get together, celebrations and naturally this means alcohol! Or …maybe you just need to drink to cope with 50 million family members crammed under one roof.

Now I’m not trying to pretend that I will be sticking to this or that I will be monitoring my calories over New Years Eve but I will be making the conscious decision to choose lower calorie drinks for the casual get togethers before the main event.

Below I have chosen some pretty spectacular low calorie drinks to get the party started no matter what the occasion or the location!


The USUALS

Rum and Diet Cola: 96 Calories

Vodka and Slimline Tonic: 97 Calories

Sugar Free Redbull and Vodka: 64 Calories

Gin and Slimline Tonic: 148 Calories

Sparkling Wine: ~100 Calories

ANY Spirit served on the rocks.


The FANCIES

Nothing is fancier or more festive than a glass of fizz…

Prosecco: 80 Calories!

Champagne: 95 Calories!

For a touch of tradition add a dash of British Cassis to make a Kir royal! (British cassis has far less sugar, so keep yourself topped up this Christmas!)


The COCKTAILS


So Refreshing!

Strawberry Mojito! : 162 Calories

6-8 Mint Leaves

1 Lime

3 tsp Sweetener

4-6 Strawberries (Sliced or Diced)

200ml Soda Water

50ml White Rum


Method:

  1. Crush your mint and pop in your glass

  2. Squeeze in half a lime

  3. Add your strawberries, rum and sweetener

  4. Use a fork or cocktail muddler to mix all together and release that strawberry flavour!

  5. Add a slice of lime, 200ml of soda and top up with ice!

Note: Replace the strawberries for whatever your favourite fruit is for that personal taste!

 

Pomegranate Martini : 111 Calories

25ml Vodka or London Dry Gin

50ml pomegranate juice

25ml Sparkling water

Orange Slice

Method:

  1. Throw it all in a glass? Seems to work!

Note: If you happen to have an actual pomegranate, add the seeds for the insta-worthy look!

 


MudSlide: 184 Calories

25ml Kahlua

25ml Vodka

50ml Irish Cream Liquer


Method:

  1. Throw it all in a glass…and add a handful of Ice.

Note : Makes an AMAZING post dinner drink!

 

Skinny Paloma: 179 Calories

200ml Grapefruit Juice (Fresh or Unsweetened)

25ml Tequila

1 Lime

50ml Sparkling water


Method:

  1. Add the Grapefruit and Tequila to your glass

  2. Squeeze in half a Lime and stir

  3. Add in the sparkling water and top your glass up with ice.

 

Now if that’s not enough to get you feeling festive ….KEEP DRINKING! You’ll get there!
